The Genesis Fund

The Genesis Fund is celebrating 22 years of raising money for New England area children born with genetic diseases, birth defects and mental retardation. Since the organization began its work, over $24 million has been raised through hosting special events as well as their affiliation with Children's Miracle Network.

Funds raised by The Genesis Fund help to support three main services. The National Birth Defects Center located in Waltham, MA, provides state of the art coordinated medical care for children born with genetic diseases, birth defects and mental retardation. Thirteen satellite clinics are held throughout New England to provide care closer to home. Therapy and The Performing Arts (TPA) is another program funded by The Genesis Fund. TPA organizes therapeutic opportunities for these special children. They have the chance to go horseback riding, wind surfing, skiing, drama, skating and much more. The third program supported by The Genesis Fund is the Pregnancy/Exposure Info-Line. This is a free confidential hotline for health care providers and expectant mothers to gather information about the impact of environmental factors on their unborn child's development. Along with supporting these programs, The Genesis Fund also gives grants to organizations committed to helping special children such as Children's Hospital Boston, Hasboro Children’s Hospital, Mass General Hospital for Children, U Mass Health Care, and Massachusetts Hospital School.

Since 1986, The Genesis Fund has been the sole beneficiary of KISS Concert. Over the last 18 years, the KISS Concert is proud to have raised well over $1 million. This year, KISS Concert 2004 hopes to raise another $50,000 in addition to increasing the awareness for this tremendous organization. Also this year KISS 108 is hosting a web site with fantastic auction items, all to benefit The Genesis Fund.

In 1998 Brooks Pharmacy paired up with Kiss 108 to raise money for The Genesis Fund. The collaborative effort has raised over $650,000 topping the goal of one half million in 2003. This tremendous effort by everyone involved is helping The Genesis Fund and its various programs assist New England area children.

This spring look for the special paper icon in every Brooks Pharmacy store to make a $1.00 contribution to help children in your community. While you are there you can enter into a contest to win a pair of Kiss Concert tickets. As you know, the Kiss Concert is the premier concert event of the year and with your donation to The Genesis Fund, you could be part of this great event. So make sure you enter and enter often at Brooks Pharmacy.

Go to your local Brooks Pharmacy and new Brooks locations to help raise money for this great cause. $1 from you can help them reach their goal!
