Several news outlets have reported that MTV has canceled Buckwild after the death of Shain Gandee but that is the furthest thing from what the cast wants.
According to the cast's Twitter accounts the production has been cancelled but they are fighting to keep it going.
According to E! News Online production was immediately suspend following Gandee's death and the unscripted series - which focused on mudding and partying- and was in the middle of shooting the second season.
A source confirms hat MTV executives have decided not to move forward with producing any further episodes.
However, one star of the show Cara Parrish has been sending out the following tweets which make it clear that the cast is fighting to keep the show going in honor of Shain.

The cast believes that Shain would want the MTV series to move forward and in honor of their lost friend they want to show the reality of losing a him and the reality of moving on without Shain but still celebrating the joy he brought to their lives.
