Since the judges used their "save" last week on Matt, 2 contestants were sent home tonight. The first to go was Lil' Rounds. She had to do her farewell performance of I'm Every Woman early in the show. As Ryan delivered more results Anoop was in the bottom three again. It came down to Matt and Allison and I was very surprised when Ryan sent Matt to safety leaving Allison in the bottom three! I really didn't think she would be in jeopardy of going home. David Archuleta hit the stage to perform and afterwards reassured Anoop and Allison that even if it's the end for them on Idol they'll still have so many opportunities after the show. He was very positive and inspiring. It was time to find out the second contestant heading home and it ended up being Anoop. He did his farewell performance of Dim All The Lights and disco week came to a close.

Tonight on American Idol Ryan drove the contestants CRAZY with his cryptic results (wow did he torture them). Anoop was back in the bottom three and off to the stools. Lil' Rounds was the next to join Anoop followed by Matt. Anoop was the first to be sent back to the couches to safety. Ryan made Lil' sweat a minute but then gave her the good news that she was safe. Matt sang for his life hoping to snag the judges' save. After the performance the crowd was chanting "save save save" but it seemed as if Simon was going to send him home BUT they kept him in the competition and used the judges' save. Of course Simon wasn't very optimistic reminding the contestants that 2 of them will now be sent home next week AND next week is DISCO week.

This week the contestants sang songs from the year they were born. Flo-rida hit the stage on tonight's results show. He'll be on stage at the Comcast Center for this year's Kiss Concert. Ending up in the bottom three this week: Anoop, Scott and Lil' Rounds (one of my original favorites from audition week). Luckily, Lil was sent back to safety and will hopefully pick a great song for next week and make it her own to impress the judges. Anoop was the next to head to safety leaving Scott to sing and hope for a second chance from the judges. Unlike last week they actually considered using the one save of the season on Scott. It was tough since 2 of the judges wanted to save Scott and 2 didn't. Simon made the tough call of sending Scott home tonight. Scott and his piano playing will be missed!

Deirdre's Bio
I’ve come full circle! As an Emerson College student the most memorable moment was when I got accepted into the internship program at Kiss 108! I grew up listening to Kiss 108. It was my favorite radio station. I started out as an intern on the Matty in the Morning Show. I also interned in the production department and became a “Club Kiss” mixer. It was the knowledge I learned and the people I met during my internship that gave me the ability to work in the music business. I worked for Jive and Giant records, I was director at the Boston Record Pool and I was the resident dj at Mercury Bar (now Gypsy Bar) in Boston. I got back into the radio end of the business working at WWKX-Kix 106FM (now Hot 106FM) in Providence, RI. This led to my job at Kiss 108’s sister station WJMN – Jam’n 94.5FM which was my home for many years until I turned on the mic here at Kiss 108.

What else should you know about me… 2004 had to be the most challenging year of my life. I was diagnosed with breast cancer. After undergoing surgery and chemotherapy, I’m happy to say that now I am a breast cancer SURVIVOR and I am cancer free (hopefully, for a very long time)! What helped me get through all of this was the support from my amazing family and friends. I’ve learned a few things from this difficult journey… For starters, I appreciate life and the people who are a part of my life. I enjoy every day, even if I don’t do anything special, and I’ve learned to be positive and optimistic. I’m just so happy to be alive and to be working at Kiss 108, the station that inspired me to pursue a career in the radio business!
