Kendra is the Executive Producer of the Matty Show, which means, she is in charge of selecting and booking all the celebrity guests, setting up the daily schedules, updating all the personality web pages, managing the social networking sites for the morning show and station, answering the listener emails, managing the Matty Show phone lines and overseeing the Matty Show internships.
She can often be heard discussing entertainment and pop culture on air with Matty, Billy and Lisa!
This past fall, she was a weekly contributor on FOX25's "The X-Factor Recap", and was a weekly contributor on FOX25's Morning Show, as their official American Idol Expert.
She joined the morning show team in April 2007, from WBZ-TV in Boston, where she started out as the Promotions Coordinator then worked her way to the Morning News Production Assistant alongside morning show anchors Paula Ebben, David Robichaud and Barry Burbank.
Prior to WBZ, she interned at the Rock radio station Lazer 99.3FM in Springfield, where she was in charge of creating contests, prizes, organizing live events, and the daily shows schedules for all the radio jocks.
She has a Bachelors Degree in Broadcast Communications, from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and is also a member of the Beta Eta chapter of the Sigma Kappa sorority. Throughout her time at UMASS, she also worked for The New England Patriots during their 2001, 2003 & 2004 World Championship seasons and is still very involved with The Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Merrimack Valley, located in Salisbury, Ma.
For the past 5 years, she has helped coordinate the annual Methuen Festival Of Trees event to benefit the Methuen Historical Society; and NuPath, Inc's annual Taste of Spring, that helps to provide a network of creative day services and residential options for people living with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders and acquired brain injury.
She is married with a 2 yr old daughter (and expecting her 2nd child this January) who always keeps her life interesting along with being a part of New England's most successful morning radio team. Every day brings a new and exciting challenge!

BARE-ing It All!
If you are a regular listener to the Matty Show, you know that I just had my 2nd child (a son) about 3 months ago... and since then I literally have no time for anything, nevermind shaving so I decided to take a little trip to Franklin, MA to visit the extraordinary ladies at BARE LASER HAIR REMOVAL CENTER.
I had one session already on my legs and the results are incredible. I think the last time I saw my legs this smooth-- was probably when I was 10 and didnt have any!!
If you are looking to cut out tons of time in your daily routine, you need to make an appointment today with Dianne and get your legs, arms, armpits, bikini, eyebrows or (for the men out there) your back done! She is a nurse practitioner (so she is medically trained and qualified) and does a fabulous job!

NASA's Original Want Ad For Astronaut

The National Archives recently posted the original job description for an astronaut on NASA's Mercury mission. It's even more intimidating than our made-up version.
In a 1959 letter written to Lt. Paul B. Bennett Jr. from Clotaire Wood, technical assistant to the deputy administrator, Wood details the various job responsibilities required of a Mercury astronaut .
Duties: Participates in indoctrination, developmental research, and pre-flight training programs under conditions simulating flight profiles of the type expected to be encountered with Project Mercury. Operates and/or observes fixed-base and moving-base simulator tests, serves as subject-under-test, and assists in the analysis of date for the evaluation and development of various boosters and of communication, telemetry, display, vehicle-control, environmental-control and other systems involved in launch, atmospheric escape, orbital flight, reentry, landing and recovery. Participates in specialized training exercises such as centrifuge programs to build up tolerances to the motions and forces associated with launch, flight without gravity, and atmospheric reentry, and to develop proficiency and confidence for vehicle operation under such conditions.

For the record, Alan Shepard was the first American in space. His suborbital flight, aboard the Freedom 7, took place on May 5, 1961, and lasted about 15 and a half minutes.

Disney TV Icon Annette Funicello Dies
Annette Funicello is dead. The famed Mickey Mouse Club member and star of 1960s teen beach movies such as "Beach Party" and "Beach Blanket Bingo" had been hospitalized in Bakersfield, California due to complications from multiple sclerosis, which she battled for years. Funicello was 70 years old.
She was born in Utica, New York before moving to California when she was four years old. Funicello was discovered at 12 years old by Walt Disney during a dance recital. She was then cast as one of the original Mouseketeers.

Judge On Morning-After Pill: No One Needs Prescription
A New York federal judge ruled Friday that the government must make emergency contraception available over the counter for women and girls of all ages within 30 days, instead of requiring a prescription for girls 16 and younger.
The ruling overturns a decision by Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, who said in 2011 that the morning-after pill could not be sold to girls younger than 17 without a prescription. Sebelius had overruled a recommendation by the Food and Drug Administration to make the pill available over the counter to all ages.
Judge Edward Korman in Brooklyn called the government’s restrictions on access to the pill “arbitrary, capricious, and unreasonable,” the New York Times reported, and gave the FDA one month to lift age and sale restrictions on Plan B One-Step and its generic versions.
The White House did not immediately comment on the judge’s decision. The FDA said it couldn’t comment on the ruling, citing the ongoing legal matter, according to CNN.
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists said last year that oral contraceptives should sold over the counter in order to reduce unintended pregnancies in the United States, CNN noted. Those who oppose prescription requirements say prescriptions can delay access to the drug, increasing the chances of pregnancy.
According to the drug’s manufacturer, Plan B can prevent pregnancy if taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex. It is different from RU-486, commonly known as the abortion pill.
