Question from Ginger:
I get really plugged up pores on the outside of my nostrils which makes me really self-conscious. It looks like little white, oily plugs in my pores. So gross! How can I get rid of them FOREVER? I've tried Biore pore strips but a couple days later I get that build-up again. Please help! Thank you!!
Beauty Squad Answer:
The bad news is you can't get rid of them FOREVER but the good news is there is lots to do to improve your clogged pores! Retin A is the most helpful in this situation because it actually helps drive the contents of the pore up and out! You will need a prescription for this! Keep your face free of heavy clogging make-up and creams because they only aggravate the clogging and prevent the pore from releasing its contents. A Clarisonic brush can aid in loosening the clogged debris and having medical grade extraction is also quite helpful!
Good luck and remember sun tanning only makes it worse!
Question from Linda:
Blush!!Ugg This is the hardest beauty product to find that looks natural without looking fake and clownish. Is there a universal color that looks good on every skin tone? I have medium color skin with yellow undertones?
Any recommendations would be helpful.
Beauty Squad Answer:
Blush can be tricky, but sticking to a few rules of thumb can help make the color choice and application a bit easier.
Try choosing a product with a sheer creamy texture, smile :) and apply on the apples of the cheeks with sponge or ring finger.
Ladyblush cream blush from MAC with its soft neutral pink tone might work for you. Apply only around the apple area of the cheek, bringing it up to the cheekbone is a common mistake.
To answer your second question, I don't think there is one color that truly looks good on everyone, but there are definitely a few popular choices out there that many skin tones seem to choose. Colors like "orgasm" from NARS is a peachy pink with a hint of shimmer that everyone seems to love.
