Months after the deal was announced, Brad Pitt has officially made his debut as the first male spokesman for the iconic female perfume Chanel No. 5 in a new ad campaign. In the 30-second commercial spot, which begins airing globally today, the 48-year-old actor quietly recites a poem to a mystery woman.
"It's not a journey," Pitt, who became engaged to Jolie in April, whispers. "Every journey ends, but we go on. The world turns and we turn with it. Plans disappear. Dreams take over. But wherever I go, there you are. My luck, my fate, my fortune. Chanel No. 5. Inevitable."
The commercial, which was directed by Joe Wright, is filmed entirely in black and white, giving it an artsy feel. The father of six is casually dressed in a button-down shirt and stands still throughout the ad with his hands buried in his pockets. His styled hair and scruffy face makes us fondly remember his 1994 role as Tristan Ludlow in "Legends of the Fall." The major difference? Nearly 20 years later, Pitt's goatee is mostly gray. However, it's a bit more groomed than it has been in recent years — on some occasions he's let it get so unruly you'd think he was auditioning to become the third member of ZZ Top!
