(Yahoo!) - Chris Brown took a short trip across the pond on Wednesday, joining Sir Philip Green and a slew of celebs to welcome U.K. boutique imports Topshop and Topman to Los Angeles.
The chic but inexpensive British retailer is taking residence at shopping mecca The Grove, and, to mark the occasion, the company hosted a bash at West Hollywood eatery Cecconi's.
Brown entered around 9:30 p.m. with a group of pals, briefly gracing the red carpet before heading to a rear patio, chatting with folks like will.i.am along the way.
Once outside, Brown sipped a Diet Coke and made friends with the international set, including Green's daughter Chloe, a shoe designer.
In what we can imagine was a rare moment for Brown, one female in the crowd hadn't heard of the singer or his music. She diligently searched his name on her smartphone and pulled up video clips of his performances, asking him to verify that each one was indeed him.
Heading back inside, Brown stopped at a photo station that featured a traditional English phone booth as prop. He grabbed two stuffed Corgis, the same breed of dog that Queen Elizabeth II keeps, and posed with them.
Kim Kardashian also stopped by, covering her baby bump in a black feathered, empire-waisted dress. Boyfriend Kanye West joined her a little later in the evening.
Additional guests included Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart, Russell Brand, Demi Lovato, Kate Bosworth, Lionel Richie and Lisa Vanderpump. Solange Knowles, fresh off the New York premiere of sister Beyoncé's HBO documentary, performed various tracks from her latest EP.
